In short
An MRI on its own can be misleading. Scans show wear-and-tear changes in most people past forty, and many of those changes cause no trouble at all. A second opinion here is a full online consultation in which Dr Chaudhary goes through your scans and your symptoms together, and tells you plainly what he thinks.
Why ask for a second opinion?
Surgery on the spine is a big decision, and it is rarely an emergency. If you have been told you need an operation and something about it does not sit right with you, it is reasonable to ask someone else to look.
A second opinion may confirm the advice you have already been given. It may also suggest that waiting, physiotherapy or an injection is worth trying first. Either way you will understand your own spine better than you did before.
What this is
An online video consultation with Dr Chaudhary. He looks at your MRI, X-rays and reports beforehand, then goes through them with you on the call and answers your questions.
It is a paid consultation, the same as any other online consultation with him. The office will tell you the fee when they contact you.
Why the questions matter as much as the scan
This is the part people find surprising. An MRI report on its own decides very little.
Disc bulges, dried-out discs and small tears turn up on the scans of large numbers of people who have no pain whatsoever. The scan only becomes meaningful when it is read next to your symptoms โ where the pain goes, what brings it on, how far you can walk, what has already been tried.
That is why the form asks about your story in some detail. Without it, Dr Chaudhary would be reading a picture and guessing.
What to send
The actual images matter far more than the typed report.
- The MRI images themselves โ as files, a Google Drive link, or the viewing link your radiology centre gave you
- Any X-rays, CT scans or nerve studies
- The radiology reports
- Earlier prescriptions or discharge summaries, if you have had treatment or surgery before
Email everything to drkshitijchaudhary@gmail.com with your name in the subject line.
How it works
- Fill in the form below. It takes about five minutes and is mostly tick-boxes.
- The office will contact you to arrange a time for the consultation.
- Email your scans and reports before the call.
- Dr Chaudhary reviews everything, then goes through it with you on the video call.
When not to wait for an appointment
See a doctor in person the same day, or go to a hospital emergency department, if you have difficulty passing urine or controlling your bladder or bowels, numbness around the private parts or inner thighs, or weakness in a leg or arm that is clearly getting worse. These need attention now, not an online appointment.
